I worked with Cherie to help her find a new job last year. We reconnected this week and she is crushing it at Bunches. What’s Bunches? What’s Cherie up to? Take a look. (You can guess my favorite group…)
IDK how this ties to tech, but that’s why I added the “…and beyond” clause to this section. Simone Biles is returning to competition next month. It’s the first time since the 2020 Olympics where she made an incredible statement and move forward for the mental health of athletes. I’m excited, are you excited?
Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty made its Roblox debut, complete with a VR game that could wind up with your own Gloss Bomb design being actually produced IRL by RiRi and team.
WoW partnered with FC Barcelona and will pay tribute to Alexia Putellas, the team captain, in their second ‘Masterpieces’ collection. (Can I get one of Abby Wambach next please?)
On the women’s sports and soccer note… Natalie Portman’s new HBO docuseries offers an unvarnished look at Angel City FC, Los Angeles’s professional women’s soccer team, took the pitch for the first time last spring, expectations were high. Cofounded by actor Natalie Portman, venture capitalist Kara Nortman, and entrepreneur Julie Uhrman, the club counts among its high-profile investors Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian, along with A-list actors and athletes, from Eva Longoria to Billie Jean King to Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy.
